Sulphur-Resistant Carton
Barrier liner that blocks sulphur-bearing gases from tarnishing electronic components.
Overview
Silver-plated contacts, copper tracks and semiconductor leads tarnish in the presence of trace sulphur compounds. This carton uses a barrier liner that blocks sulphur-bearing gases, making it a standard choice for chip-level electronics packaging.
Blocking the tarnishing agent
Sulphur compounds, even at parts-per-billion levels, react with silver and copper to form dark sulphide films that raise contact resistance. A barrier liner and sealed construction keep the internal gas concentration below the threshold at which tarnishing becomes measurable.
Validated for components
We validate the construction with silver foil coupon testing: coupons are packed, subjected to a sulphur-bearing atmosphere, and inspected for discolouration. Results are reported to the customer so that shelf life can be stated with confidence.
Designed for semiconductor logistics
The carton is compatible with moisture-barrier bags, desiccant and humidity indicator cards, forming a complete dry-pack system for moisture- and sulphur-sensitive devices.
Key features
- Prevents silver tarnish
- Coupon-validated
- Dry-pack compatible
- Stable contact resistance
Typical applications
- Semiconductors and ICs
- Silver-plated connectors
- Relays and switches
- Precision instruments
Validated before production
Compression, drop and vibration protocols are run in our ISTA-certified test centre, with a written report and photographs supplied for approval.
Tooling in-house
Plates, dies and CAD/CAM structures are produced internally, so a specification change does not wait on an external supplier.
Documented compliance
ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 systems, RoHS declarations and export packaging licences for ordinary and dangerous goods.
